Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Your Privacy Matters
Outage.gr is designed with privacy at its core. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to operate the service. You do not need an account, email address, or any personal information to use Outage.gr.
What We Collect
Device Fingerprint
When you submit a report, verify an outage, or post a comment, we generate a random UUID (universally unique identifier) stored only in your browser's localStorage. This is not linked to your identity — it simply prevents duplicate votes and lets you manage your own reports. Clearing your browser data removes it entirely.
Location Data
When you submit an outage report, you provide a location either through GPS (with your explicit permission) or by searching an address. This location is stored as geographic coordinates attached to the report. We do not track your location outside of the report submission process.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, which collects anonymous page view data (page URL, referrer, country, device type). No cookies are set, no personal data is collected, and no cross-site tracking occurs. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Email addresses or names
- IP addresses (not stored in our database)
- Cookies for tracking purposes
- Personal identification of any kind
- Location data when you are not actively submitting a report
Third-Party Services
Outage.gr uses the following external services:
- Supabase — database hosting (EU region)
- Vercel — application hosting and analytics
- OpenStreetMap/Nominatim — geocoding (address lookup)
- CARTO — map tile provider
- DEDDIE (siteapps.deddie.gr) — official scheduled outage data
Cookies
Outage.gr does not set any tracking cookies. The only client-side storage we use is a localStorage entry containing your anonymous device fingerprint (a random UUID). If Google AdSense is active, it may set its own cookies — see Google's privacy policy for details.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is typically nothing to request deletion of. However, you can clear your device fingerprint at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for outage.gr. If you have any concerns, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Outage.gr constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
